Survey by Paula Salovaara, Journalist, Aalto EMBA: Did the Executive MBA change something in your life? This question went to the Aalto Executive MBA cohort 2013, and the answer was “oh yes it did!”
The entire group thought that the program had had an impact on the way they think. Strategic thinking and new contacts were the two areas of impact with the highest scores. All 45 people who graduated from the Aalto Executive MBA (EMBA) program in November 2014 have taken part in an open question survey called One Year After Graduation in late 2015. The survey measures the impact of the study program from many different angles. Answers to the questions tell a story of 30 men and 15 women who became a tight knit group working together, solving cases and coaching each other.
When asked if the EMBA experience benefited their personal life, 89% of the cohort strongly agreed.
"The financial courses made the first spring quite hard, but I really needed those modules to broaden my knowledge,” said one of the group members in the questions about courses and modules. Many mentioned the Self Development process as core learning. “I gained a lot of courage and self-confidence,” said another.
The cohort started the program in February 2013 and received their degrees in November 2014. Participants came from Finland, Sweden, Croatia, Uruguay, Russia, China, France and Estonia. Their average age at the start of the program was 43, and they had an average of 10 years leadership experience.
From now on we will publish individual participant stories on the impact and experience of Aalto Executive MBA program.
