Digital Business Network is for change agents – directors, business managers and experts seeking new standards and innovations for their organization in a rapidly changing business environment.

The Network is organization specific – seminars can only be attended by representatives from the member organizations.

 

Contents and Schedule

Digital Business Network consists of six seminars held in Helsinki over the course of the year. During the day, we will always learn something completely new, and explore the themes through practical exercises.

The goal is to give participants a practical toolbox for managing transformation. Network power will be used in the learning process through group exercises and Thinkathons. Seminars are held in Helsinki city center and run from 09:00 to 15:00. Training days consist of seminar chairmen and a key-note speaker.

Seminar Chairmen

Ville Eloranta

Dr. Ville Eloranta is an expert in business model innovation (especially platform business models), distributed ledger technologies (especially open blockchain implementations), and design management (connecting design paradigms to management practice).

Dr. Eloranta is currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Aalto University, School of Business. He is teaching future transdisciplinary professionals in International Design Business Management programs, and is also involved in the development of Network university Fitech (a transformative education endeavor of 7 biggest Finnish universities, Technology Industries of Finland, and TEK).

He is researching business models in decentralized business ecosystems, and has a solid track record of publications in top-level management journals.

Before joining academia, Dr, Eloranta worked nearly 20 years as a service designer and programmer, and design agency entrepreneur (founder of a 30-person company in 3 countries), solving digitalization challenges especially for big B2B customers.

Dr. Ville Eloranta holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management from Aalto University School of Science and Technology.

Juuso Liesiö

Juuso Liesiö is an Assistant Professor of Management Science in the Department of Information and Service Management at the Aalto University

Professor Liesiö is an expert in portfolio decision analysis, robust resource allocation models, and decision-support systems.

Dr. Henri Schildt

Henri Schildt is a tenured professor with a joint appointment at the Aalto University School of Business (Management & Organizations) and the School of Science’s Department of Industrial Engineering and Management.

His research interests span technology strategy, organizational change, and strategy process (with specific interest in reasoning under uncertainty and the use of data analytics). He is currently heading two research programmes on data-driven management and the management of digitalization in Finnish manufacturing companies. Henri Schildt completed his PhD at Helsinki University of Technology in 2007.

Fabian Sepulveda

Fabian Sepulveda is a Senior Advisor at Aalto University Executive Education. He is actively involved in Finland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem as a startup coach and Lean Launchpad® trainer, and helps organizations understand and execute Lean Startup methodologies and customer development.

Sepulveda has more than 20 years of experience in engineering, management consulting and investment banking at companies such as Lucent Technologies, A.T. Kearney, and J.P. Morgan.

He teaches Venture Formation and other courses at the Aalto Ventures Program and Aalto University Executive Education. He cofounded eyescubed, a startup in automotive technology, and also cofounded Courage Ventures Advisory, which provides entrepreneurship training and development to leading private and public organizations. He is also a cofounding Partner of Courage Ventures Management, a fund investing in health & wellness, education, and environment verticals.

Sepulveda has a PhD in International Business (Entrepreneurship) from Aalto University, an MBA in Finance and Financial Management Services from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (Netherlands) and a BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from North Carolina State University (USA).

Hertta Vuorenmaa

Hertta Vuorenmaa is a Post-doctoral Researcher at the Department of Management at Aalto University School of Business. Her current research focuses on changing nature of work and changing people management, HRM in public and private organizations, digitalization, gender and qualitative research methods including ethnography.

Vuorenmaa is an experienced researcher and trainer. She has been working as a researcher in several large Academy of Finland funded research projects focusing on for example well being at work, people management and its various roles and gender inequalities.
