Introduction to Digital Transformation Technologies online course introduces four hyped technologies which are driving digital transformation: Artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, blockchain and software robotics. Covered topics include e.g. neural networks, computer vision, smart contracts and different AR and VR applications. After the course you know what these technologies are, where they came from and what is to be expected in the future.

The course contains five online modules and it takes approximately one day to complete. The online modules consist efficient video lectures, which cover the technologies from different perspectives, additional study materials and company interviews. 

With the organizational license you can freely distribute the content inside your organization. The video lectures can also be embedded in most common learning management systems.

Mikko Kytö

Mikko Kytö has researched augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) with a multidisciplinary approach for over 10 years.

He received his M.Sc. from Helsinki University of Technology in 2009, and D.Sc. from Aalto University in 2014.  From his research in Finland and international collaboration, he has been able to gain a comprehensive overall image of the field of AR and VR. Especially he has researched interaction and visualization techniques for AR and VR, as well as application contexts for AR and VR, such as using AR in social interaction. Kytö has published scientific articles in the best venues in the field, for example in ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems.

Janne M. Korhonen

Janne M. Korhonen (MSc (Tech), PhD) is a researcher and an author, who researches qualities, possibilities and limitations of different technologies in modern society.

Currently, he is working at Aalto University in the Recon project, which studies applications of blockchain technology. Prior to his research career, he was the founding partner in design and product development services at Seos Design.

Arto Klami

Arto Klami is Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Academy Research Fellow at University of Helsinki, where he leads the Multi-Source Probabilistic Inference research group. He is also member of Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT and Finnish Center for Artificial Intelligence.

He received his PhD in computer science from Aalto University in 2008. Arto has more than 15 years of experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning research, and he has published more than 50 scientific articles in the field. His primary research interests are in statistical machine learning, data integration and probabilistic programming, and he has worked on wide range of applications from computational biology and neuroscience to human-computer interaction and analysis of heterogeneous traces of human activity.

Riitta Bekkhus

Riitta Bekkhus holds a PhD in Information Systems Science from Aalto University, School of Business.

In her thesis she studied software robotic implementations and created a step-by-step digital business transformation program for traditional companies to follow. Riitta has over 20 years work experience from major Nordic IT companies, such as, Nokia, Telenor (in Norway) and Tieto, in which she has worked as a Project Director, Quality Partner, Process Owner and Business Architect. She is currently a co-owner of Nordomus Oy, where she works as a Business Architect & Advisor for digital business transformations.

Liisa Välikangas

Liisa Välikangas is a Professor in Innovation Management at Aalto University School of Business and at Hanken School of Economics.

Professor Välikangas’ areas of expertise include strategic leadership, innovation and management, change and innovation capability, as well as the transformation of companies. Professor Välikangas has over 15 years of experience in working with leading international companies.

Previously, Liisa Välikangas has worked for e.g. Stanford University, London Business School, Keio University in Japan and IMD in Switzerland and cooperated actively with global leading companies. Currently Dr. Välikangas’ research interests are in the field of blockchain, strategic resilience and leadership innovation. 

The Academy of Management awarded her the Best Action Research Paper prize in 2009 in Organizational Change and Development division. She regularly gives talks to executive audiences about innovation management, organizational resilience and strategy development. She is the author of The Resilient Organization, How Adaptive Cultures Thrive Even When Strategy Fails, published 2010.

Liisa holds a PhD in Business Administration from University of Tampere.

Timo Seppälä

Timo Seppälä works as Professor of Practice, Digital Operations at the Aalto University and as Research Associate at The Research Institute of the Finnish Economy, ETLA. His research interest lie in contemporary global phenomena like digitalization, platform economy and global value chains as well as strategic management and internationalization of firms.

Seppälä's areas of expertise include Business Intelligence and Analyses, Global Business Unit and Account Management, Strategic and Operative Business Development, Supplier and Customer Relationship Management and Contract Negotiations.

Dr. Seppälä has over 15 years of business experience in several Finnish and international companies for example Metso, OMG Kokkola Chemicals, Oracle, Elcoteq and SAP.
