Chief Financial Officer Marek Holubowski began his studies on the Aalto Executive MBA program on his wife’s recommendation, who herself was a year into the program. She thought Marek would benefit from the wider perspective, good lecturers and networks offered by the program. Marek was convinced the program would offer much more than expertise in finance and economics, which he was already familiar with.

“Now I’ve seen how wonderful and broad the program is for myself. I’ve taken part in elective modules in Helsinki twice, and also, I went to the Aalto Executive Summit in Singapore. I get an exceptional exposure to different fields, cultures and experiences.”
Holubowski works in the telecom industry in Poland, and finances the program himself.
“I want to develop myself and learn more. Learning about strategy and its impact on all operations is the most important part. We learn to look at companies from a helicopter point of view, not just a project or quarter at a time, but further into the future.”

Marek Holubowski’s group is working on a business project on his employer, Europa Systems. He receives valuable insight from engineers in the group, which Holubowski is then able to take to management team level.
For Holubowski, the most memorable days at the Singapore Executive Summit were spent listening to monetization lectures by Marco Bertini from ESADE Business School.
“What an amazing energy and ability to reach the audience. Content isn’t enough, it’s important to be able to present it well, too, as Bertini proved.”
