Aalto University Executive Educations programs in Asia Pacific has a new home base in Singapore. Grand opening of the Singapore campus took place in the beginning of May and over 100 Aalto EEs alumni, customers and partners were enjoying the festivities. The guest of honor was Finnish Ambassador HE Paula Parviainen. The traditional Lion Dance brought prosperity, good luck and success to the future.
This is a milestone for us, and enables us to provide the unique Aalto EE impact and experience now also here in the Asia Pacific region, says Anu Sirkiä, Executive Director, Asia Pacific, Aalto EE.
Aalto EE, which was originally founded in Helsinki, Finland in 1970, has approximately 3 500 alumni in the Asia Pacific region. The first education program in the region started in South Korea in 1995. Currently Aalto EEs programs are offered also in Singapore, Taiwan, China and Indonesia. The company has had its subsidiary in Singapore since 2000.
Award winning Finnish Design in an ideal location
Art and design is an essential part of Aalto EEs learning experience and Singapore campus is no exception.
The furniture of the campus are Finnish Design from Vivero. There are also chairs designed by Ilkka Suppanen who has been awarded recently the worlds richest design award: the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Prize.
Aalto EEs campus area is close to 4,000 square feet and is located in in a prominent and accessible part of Singapore, close to key landmarks, such as Supreme Court and Treasury Building, and a short walk away from Raffles Place, Singapores equivalent of Wall Street. The biggest classroom, directly facing Singapore Parliament, is able to accommodate up to 60 people.
