New exhibition opens on Aalto EE's premises

The exhibition "Et Spiritus Sancti" by photographer Annick Ligtermoet has opened in the Bang Bang Gallery in the main building of the Aalto University School of Business.

1.2.2016

The exhibition is a series of photographs shot in southern Europe and the Middle East. In these regions, religious sights are both a reminder of the past and part of traditions still alive. Signs of a common belief are scattered through different countries and even different eras.

Ligtermoet has also come up with a fresh and experimental way of hanging and installing the works. Ligtermoet, who comes from the Netherlands, currently lives in Finland. Her work has previously been exhibited in locations such as New York and Amsterdam.

Bang Bang Gallery celebrates young creative talent in collaboration with Aalto EE. By welcoming fresh names of Finnish art photography and introducing them to Aalto EE’s clientele we aim to offer a possibility for interesting encounters.

"For companies and business leaders, art photography is a more alien art form than the traditional visual arts, which they have been acquiring for much longer. That is why we want to put photographers in the spotlight," says gallerist Heli Mäenpää of the Bang Bang Gallery.

Aalto EE's permanent exhibition featured online

Aalto EE has its own permanent exhibition, created partly from borrowed works and partly from specially acquired pieces. This exhibition has also been published online.

"Art is a competitive factor for Aalto EE. We do not have a medieval campus or lake views, but we do have a fine, exclusive collection of Finnish modern and contemporary art which expressively represents our multidisciplinary nature. We want to harness the power of art to help us make the learning experience at Aalto EE truly inspiring.

Our permanent online exhibition gives viewers a first impression of the artworks exhibited in our facilities. The number of artworks is constantly growing in this dynamically laid out exhibition," says Pekka Mattila, Group Managing Director for Aalto EE.
