The Aalto-ESADE MBA for Executives combines the strengths of two leading business schools to create a unique qualification for managers wishing to explore the field of global business and innovation in Asia and Europe.
Singapore, 12th of December 2018 — ESADE and Aalto University are starting the first Aalto-ESADE MBA for Executives program, a unique qualification for managers wishing to explore the field of global business and innovation in Asia. The program will give participants a more global profile, boost their leadership skills and performance in international companies, and train them to manage multi-disciplinary, inter-cultural teams.
The program is the fruit of a cooperation agreement signed by ESADE Business School and Aalto University Executive Education (Aalto EE) in 2015. The first cohort of students will run from December 2018 to June 2020. Participants will spend four weeks in Asia (three in Singapore and one in Ho Chi Minh City) and four in Europe (one in Helsinki and Madrid and two in Barcelona). The studies at each location will focus on different intensive, specialised modules, for example global businesses, strategy, design thinking and innovation, digitalization, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
Michele Quintano, Executive Director of ESADE Executive Education and in charge of the Aalto-ESADE MBA, stressed that today s global managers need to know about the business and innovation panorama in the world s regions so that they can think in global terms and pinpoint opportunities for new, innovative businesses in different markets. He underlined that This MBA exposes participants to the latest business trends and burning issues in Asia. Thanks to the exchange of talent, the MBA for Executives provides a springboard for economic activities and initiatives between Asia and Europe.
Pekka Mattila, Group Managing Director of Aalto Executive Education stated that “when ESADE’s and Aalto EE’s strengths come together they provide participants with a unique platform for business model and value innovation and their monetization. Teaching excellence and methodological innovation will make this a memorable and transformative experience for all the participants.”
Exceptional executives drawn from 12 countries
This year, the Aalto-ESADE MBA for Executives will be taken by nineteen executives (40% of them women) from 15 countries in four continents. All have 16 years average work experience, an international profile, and excellent inter-personal and leadership skills. Their backgrounds are varied: business, consultancy, international bodies, academic institutions, research, public administration, and diplomacy.
The all-round experience will boost participants’ ability to exploit the opportunities and advantages offered by the program and give them first-hand knowledge of how other professionals and companies are both competing and cooperating in an ever more interdependent and globalised world.
Eight intensive weeks in Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, Helsinki, Barcelona and Madrid
The program is split into four blocks, each held at a different strategic location. This structure gives participants the skills they need to lead global teams — skills that are vital if companies are to adapt to macro-economic changes in the business world.
The Design Thinking methodology, entrepreneurial focus, and corporate responsibility adopted throughout the program will help participants pinpoint emerging business opportunities in Europe and Asia. The program’s graduates will be excellently placed to boost the performance and management of global teams, not only maximizing profits but also taking into account the different stakeholders and enabling competitive advantage with new business innovations.
