Speakers include the legendary John Romero (photo on the right), Vesa Jutila, Michail Katkoff and Oscar Clark who will share their experiences on effective and ethical ways to monetize in games.
The seminar welcomes game makers, industry experts and university students in a new setup focused on co-creation and learning. Participants will work together to hack monetization from various viewpoints including design, product management, users, ethics, platforms and technology. Companies from outside the games industry are also invited to facilitate cross-industry discussions and learning from a new industry that is continuously innovating.
Aalto Design Factory, located in Otaniemi – Finland, will host the seminar on October 19, 2018. The talks will be live-streamed to audiences worldwide.
“Finland has one of the best games industries in the world and it owes much of this to an excellent educational system. To stay on top, we need to be constantly training our skills and learning new abilities, and to stay on the cutting edge. That’s why I’m pleased to see some of the world’s leading experts come here to share their knowledge. Moreover, it's great that the idea and organizers for this event are from the local game development community. They are pushing the games industry to new heights. Monetization is an important topic and this day is committed to it. Finland has a track record of making some of the best games in the world and this seminar will help us continue along that path”, says Vesa Raudasoja, Chairman of IGDA Finland.
“The latest proven practices, research and facilitation methods are at the core of the seminar which is built on learnings from Aalto ENT’s Game Executive program. The seminar is designed to be a truly inspirational and educational experience. Participants will work together with game developers and experts on real-case challenges and hack monetization”, says Minna Wickholm, Business Area Director, Aalto ENT.
